Nick Fury's Civil War Absence Explained!

Answering the question of where Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) was during Captain America: Civil War would have raised too many more big questions, according to screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, but they hint that he'll be back for Avengers: Infinity War (via ComicBookMovie.com).

"We called [Fury], but he let the line blink. Primarily it felt like one too many possible opinions," Markus explains. "We didn't want him to take one side or the other, because that's not his place in the universe. And then we didn't want another, 'Is he still with the government? Is he opposed to the government but supporting the government?' It got to be the potential for a lot more polemic discussion that the movie did not have room for. He's the guy who put it together. He's been the sort of parent figure to the Avengers. Let the parent go away, and see if the kids can handle this. See if the kids can be who they're supposed to be without that governing voice. Um… and they didn't do that good of a job."

Deadpool and the X-Men Could Meet in a Crossover!

Given the popularity of Deadpool, Fox would be smart to have the title character show up in one of the other main X-Men movies, and X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer agrees but says it'll be tricky (via /Film):

If you take a character as irreverent and meta as Deadpool and connect him to something as grounded and serious as X-Men, you have to do it carefully and gently. When you drop them all in together it can be a disaster. That has to be done delicately, but there’s plenty of room to do it.
