Singapore’s Neon Lights Fest to bring in George Clinton
The Godfather of Funk George Clinton will be performing at Singapore’s music and arts festival Neon Lights in November.
The 75-year-old musician will be bringing his legendary giant spaceship prop on stage (dubbed The Mothership). Expect the best from Clinton as he performs alongside his funk-soul collective Parliament and Funkadelic.
The two-day event taking place at Fort Canning Park on Nov 26-27 will also feature performances by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros and English indie rock band Foals.
Neon Lights organisers have also added Crystal Castles, Jose Gonzales, Neon Indian, Lucy Rose, Gold Panda, Badbadnotgood, 65daysofstatic and Pumarosa to the lineup.
Singaporean artistes such as Gentle Bones, Linying, Cashew Chemists and Disco Hue are set to perform as well. Festival director Declas Forde said in a press statement that more surprises are in stores for festival-goers. “We’ll be announcing a few more music acts, plus the array of entertainment in our arts areas in September.”
Tickets are priced from S$120 (RM360) for a single day pass. For more information, check out www.neonlights.sg.
