Omerta: Sylvester Stallone (above in Creed) is attached to star in Omerta, a television series about an organized-crime leader and his successor, based on the third novel in Mario Puzo's Godfather trilogy. Antoine Fuqua (The Magnificent Seven) is set to direct the pilot episode. The show is still in the planning stages and does not yet have a commitment from a network, either broadcast or cable, but is likely to be shopped to streaming and cable services. [Deadline]



The Catcher Was a Spy: Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) will star as Moe Berg in The Catcher Was a Spy. It's based on a popular book by Nicholas Dawidoff that told the true story of a professional baseball player who led a double life as a spy for the U.S. during World War II. Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan) wrote the screenplay; Ben Lewin (The Sessions) will direct. [Deadline]


The Omen

The First Omen: A prequel to 1976's The Omen is in the works. The original starred Gregory Peck as an American ambassador in Europe whose adopted son, Damien, may be the son of the Devil. It spawned two sequels and a remake, as well as a TV series that is currently airing. Ben Jacoby wrote the script for the prequel script, The First Omen. Antonio Campos is in negotiations to direct. Southside with You Trailer: Parker Sawyers and Tika Sumpter star in Southside with You as Barack and Michelle, better known today as President and Mrs. Obama.
