You are currently reading words on a website that's all about movies, so it's safe to say that you're more informed than most about upcoming movies. You're probably well aware that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a prequel set before A New Hope. You probably know full well that it's about the group of rebels tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star.

However, there are a ton of people who are going to show up in theaters this December for the new Star Wars movie expecting a sequel to The Force Awakens and are probably going to be a bit confused when the movie starts and Rey and Finn are nowhere to be found. And if you happen to know someone that fits that bill. Someone who is a definite Star Wars fan but doesn't really follow its comings and goings until the film is out, you may want to show them this new trailer for Rogue One.

This is actually a Japanese trailer, but it does a very clear job of explaining what this movie is, when it takes place, and whom it's about. It's a great trailer for those who are largely clueless about Rogue One. And for the rest of us Star Wars obsessives, it contains a few pieces of new footage and new dialogue that we haven't seen or heard before.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
